… has been involved in some type of hand work most of her life. Being taught by her grandmother to sew, knit and crochet she developed a life long love. Family and an engineering career put most of that on the back burner for a very significant period of time.
She enjoys creating pieces of art with detailed stitching on them. All of the stitch work is freehand with her sewing machine. Her imagination and pleasure in the designs she creates are her guide. She does not mark any of her designs; it is create as she goes.
She has competed for many years in local, regional and national competitions with both traditional and art pieces. Over the past 3 to 4 years she has started to do more in the area of art quilting, finding excitement in the combination of her established skills and the exploration of combining fiber, fabric and thread. She also enjoys making things that are functional, if possible.
